Somadas Chathannoor was a popular Malayalam singer and reality TV show contestant. He was born in Chathannur, Kollam, Kerala, and gained recognition after participating in the musical reality show Star Singer in 2008. Although he didn’t win the show, he became a well-loved contestant and continued to perform in various stage shows and international events.
Somadas also participated in the reality TV show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 in 2020 but had to leave the show midway due to a medical emergency. He was diagnosed with high blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol. Unfortunately, he passed away on January 31, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19, which had caused an infection in his kidneys.
He was known for his renditions of songs by Sankar Mahadevan and emulated the style of the late actor Kalabhavan Mani. Somadas was also an autorickshaw driver before his singing career took off. He is survived by his two children.
