Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 premiered on March 26, 2023, and concluded on July 2, 2023. Hosted by Mohanlal for the fifth consecutive year, this season was themed “Battle of the Originals” and featured 21 contestants. The house was set up in Mumbai Film City and designed to reflect Kerala’s traditional architecture.
The season introduced a commoner selected by the title sponsor Airtel, adding a fresh dynamic to the show. Akhil Marar emerged as the winner, with Reneesha Rahiman as the runner-up. The house had unique themed bedrooms, a garden area with a pool and gym, and a jail with seating.
